  1. I remember checking "Catch-22" out during high school, but not a thing about it. Fairly sure I didn't finish it, but I was a lazy reader back then. A friend of mine read "Watership Down" in the last year or -- she was quite impressed by it, though the setting was strange.

  3. I am the Messenger is awesome, one of my favorite books to recommend to more mature boys. I remember really liking Watership Down but it has been years since I read it.

  10. The Shadow of the Wind nearly made my list.

I loved Catch 22. Very funny in a dark and crazy way.

I remember liking Watership Down when I read it about 15 years go, even though I don't particularly like stories about anthropomorphised animals.

  11. I liked Shiver. Catch 22 and The Mockingbirds are ones I'd like to read as well, though they didn't come to mind when I made my list. Hope you enjoy all of these!!

  13. I read Catch 22 back in high school, and I don't think I fully understood all of it. I think I need to go back to that one!
I also started and discarded Watership Down in high school. I picked it up 2 years ago for a class and I LOVED it! Couldn't believe I gave up on it the first time.

    Have fun with these!
